Firearms Training

We’re offering Canadian firearms safety training during Preppers Meet week. These are the official Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) curricula—focused on safe handling concepts, legal responsibilities, and best practices in full compliance with Canadian law.

Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC)

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) provides essential, foundational training for individuals seeking to obtain their Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for non-restricted firearms in Canada. This course equips students with the knowledge, skills, and legal understanding required to own and use firearms safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with Canadian law.

The CFSC is a minimum eight-hour in-class course (not including written and practical examinations) and is delivered in a structured, professional learning environment.

Course Content

Students will receive comprehensive instruction in:

  • Fundamental firearms safety rules and best practices
  • Ammunition types, identification, and proper storage
  • Understanding and operating common firearm actions
  • Safe handling, loading, unloading, and carrying procedures
  • Legal responsibilities of firearm owners and users
  • Safe storage, display, and transportation requirements under Canadian law

Successful completion of the course includes both a written examination and a practical handling assessment.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Participants under 18 years of age must have parental or guardian consent
  • Minors who successfully complete the CFSC may apply for a Minor’s Licence
  • 100% course attendance is required to be eligible for testing
  • Any required retest must be completed within 30 days of the course date

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)

The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) provides comprehensive foundational training for individuals seeking restricted firearm privileges under a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) in Canada. This course builds upon the CFSC and focuses specifically on the legal responsibilities, safe handling practices, and regulatory requirements associated with restricted firearms.

Successful completion of the CFSC is required prior to enrolling in the CRFSC.

The CRFSC is a minimum six-hour course, not including the written and practical examinations, and is delivered in a structured, professional learning environment.

Course Overview

Participants will receive detailed instruction in:

  • Core firearms safety principles
  • Ammunition types and proper storage requirements
  • Operating and understanding restricted firearm actions
  • Safe handling, loading, unloading, and transportation procedures
  • Legal responsibilities of restricted firearm owners
  • Safe storage, display, and transportation in accordance with Canadian law

Course completion requires passing both a written examination and a practical firearms handling assessment.


Additional Options

  • CFSC and CRFSC may be taken consecutively as a Back-to-Back course (discounted rate)
  • Reviewing the official student manual beforehand is strongly encouraged

Camping (free)

If attending multiple days, you can camp on-site for free during Preppers Meet week. Park where you camp and enjoy the full event experience.
